Admission Requirements

To ensure the safety and qualification of our students, we have established specific criteria for admission. These requirements are in line with state and federal regulations governing commercial driving. Here are the criteria each potential student must meet:

1.    Age Requirement:

Must be 18 years of age to enroll in our program. This meets the minimum requirement set by both state and federal regulations.                                             Individuals who are 18 years or older and do not engage in interstate commerce activities can drive for hire within Louisiana.

2.    Interstate Commerce:

To drive a commercial vehicle engaged in interstate commerce or to transport hazardous materials or wastes (intrastate or interstate                                    commerce), a minimum age of 21 is required.

3.    Motor Vehicle Report (MVR):

Prospective students must have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR). This report provides information about an individual's                                        driving history and helps assess their eligibility for our training program.

4.    Valid Driver's License:

All applicants must possess a valid driver's license. This license serves as a legal requirement to operate a motor vehicle and is                                                    necessary to participate in our training.

5.    Department of Transportation (DOT) Requirements:

Prospective students must be able to pass the Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination, ensuring they meet the                                            health and fitness standards for commercial drivers. Additionally, they must pass the drug screening test as mandated by DOT                                                    regulations.

At Safe Road Truck Driving School, LLC, we prioritize the safety and compliance of our students. By meeting these admission requirements, you can ensure that you are ready to embark on a successful journey toward becoming a professional and responsible truck or bus driver.
